18 days!

Travis graduates in 18 days! Yay, it is right around the corner!!!!

We had a great weekend in Tuscaloosa together. I got into town around 4:30 PM on Friday and cooked chicken tetrazini for supper. Then we watched 24 and went over to Ashley and Seth's for a little while for a birthday party. Then, Saturday we went grocery shopping, watched the A-Day game on TV, and had Alisha and Tyler over for supper. I made Peppered Shrimp Alfredo (here's the recipe, Alisha) and everybody liked it! Then, we went to Yogurt Mountain for dessert...yum :)
Sunday we went to church and ate lunch with Alan, Katie, Andrew, and Katie's parents at McAlister's.

I didn't have to work yesterday, so I stuck around in t-town until yesterday afternoon and then came back to Baugay's. I worked today, and then I'm off tomorrow. I work 12 hours Thursday and 8 Friday before heading back to t-town for another great weekend together!

Travis is in the middle of another hectic week, but we're hoping things will slow down after this week is over. He has his big senior design presentation tomorrow, a paper due in quantum physics on Thursday, and a test on Friday. By the time I see him, I'm sure he'll be ready to crash! He's actually looking forward to finals week because it will probably be less stressful than any other week this semester.

Right now, he's at the GI doctor's office for his follow-up appointment. We'll see what they tell him...hopefully good news!

Hope everyone is having an awesome week! :)

A Much Needed Day Off

I got today off work, and it has been SO nice! It's really been tough working Monday through Friday for the past several weeks and waking up at 4:30 every morning. I've been going to bed by 8 or 8:30 every night, and I still feel tired every day. Then, the weekends fly by so fast that I don't feel rested at all before it's time to go back to work all over again. So, today has been a welcome break for sure!

Travis and I had a lot of fun this weekend. We caught up on 24, played paintball all Saturday afternoon, ate lots of good food, and celebrated Emily's birthday. Paintball was definitely an experience, and I have the welps to prove it! Hiding didn't protect me very much, so next time I guess I'll have to come up with another strategy!

We reworked our budget yesterday afternoon, and we've got over $2000 saved for our "new car" fund. Yay! Who knows when we'll actually get Travis a new car, but we're trying to save up some money in case his car bites the dust anytime soon. It is 15 years old after all!

Today I went shopping at Kohl's and actually had some luck! Shopping, for me, is either really good or really bad, and today it was really good. I got 2 dresses, 2 shirts, 2 pairs of capris, and 1 pair of shorts, and I saved almost as much as I spent. My closet has been looking pretty bare up here (most of my clothes are in t-town), so it's good to have a little more variety of things to wear while I'm up here!

I'm working the rest of this week (Tuesday through Friday), and then I'll be going to Tuscaloosa for the weekend. Saturday is the A-Day game, so hopefully we'll get to go to that if Travis can find time for a break from all the papers/projects/homework that are consuming his life! 26 more days til graduation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GREAT NEWS :)

I don't think it's possible to express in words how excited I am right now!!!!

Travis called Doug at the PIF this morning, and they are in the process of getting the paperwork together to make him a job offer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are so thrilled and relieved. I can't say I was too worried when we hadn't heard by the end of March (like we were supposed to), but it's great to get some official confirmation that he's going to have a job after graduation. YAY!!!!!!

Doug also said that Travis can wait to start until after the beach trip with my family (May 29th - June 5th), so he gets to go to Fripp too! I think he's wanting to start right after that though, like the Monday after we get back. I'm glad that he'll get about a month off before starting work. After all, he gets to work for the rest of his life, so why not enjoy some time off for a month or so? Plus, we're going to be super busy during May with graduation stuff, moving, and getting everything set up here at Baugay's. We're finally going to have all our stuff in one place after 2 1/2 years of being married!!!

Travis also called the GI doctor's office today and got the results of the bloodwork he had done at the ER a couple of weeks ago. They told him that his IgG antibodies were positive, but his IgM antibodies were negative, which means that at some point in the past he had hepatitis A, but he doesn't have a current infection with it. YAY!!!! The doctor still wants to see him back in 2 weeks just to follow up, so we'll see what he says then I guess. Travis forgot to ask when he called whether or not the lab work checked his liver enzymes to see if they were still elevated or not, so he's going to ask about that at his next appointment.

The bottom line is that we are REALLY blessed. God has really taken care of us since we got married, and we are so thankful for that. Even though I know we'll go through some rough times too, God will be right there watching over us the whole time just like always!

This past weekend, we met halfway in Trussville at my parents' house and spent the weekend with them and Jenn. It was great to hang out and eat some of Mom's home cooking again :) We also went to see Gran, Dadaw, and Granny on Saturday afternoon, which was awesome because we hadn't seen them since Christmas! Saturday night, we went to a baby shower/cookout for Elijah and Leisha in Birmingham. It was a lot of fun, and they got so many cute things for McKenna! They are going to be such great parents, I'm sure!!

This week Travis will be coming up here Thursday sometime because classes are cancelled on Friday for Honors Day. I still have to work Friday, but at least we get a little extra time together! Saturday, we are going paintballing for Emily's 17th birthday. I'm excited! I've never been before, so we'll see how I do. Hopefully I won't end up with too many bruises :)

The weather has been great lately...just another reason to be in a wonderful mood!
