It's Wednesday already! We've had a pretty good week so far. Last weekend we went to Trussville to hang out with my parents. It was great to see them! We also got to see Gran, Dadaw, and Granny for a little while Saturday afternoon, so that was really nice. Bo (Jenn's dog) is just as goofy as ever. Mom has been redecorating practically the whole house, and we hadn't been there since April to see any of it, but it all looks great! The living room especially looks totally different...in a good way. Whenever we buy a house, I'm hiring Mom to do my decorating :)
This week I worked Monday for 4 hours, and it was a total waste of time...haha. They really didn't even need me, but oh well. At least I got paid for it. I may work tomorrow (if they need me), and I'm definitely working Friday 6A-6P. Travis's Friday off is this week, so he's looking forward to that. He's stayed up late every night this week trying to help me get my new phone set up. That thing is so complicated! I think we finally got my email on there the way I want it, so that's progress at least.
A not-so-funny-but sort-of-anyway thing happened on our way back from Trussville on Sunday. Well, we actually didn't realize it until we were about to go to bed Sunday night. Travis and I are now both sleeping in retainers because we grind our teeth according to the dentist. I just got mine a couple of weeks ago....it's a plastic mold that fits over my bottom teeth. Well, Travis (like a good patient) took his to Trussville this weekend, but I left mine here accidentally. We unpacked all our stuff Sunday night, and Travis grabbed his retainer to put it in for the night because we were about to go to sleep. He put it in his mouth....and it didn't fit. At first, we thought he'd grabbed mine by accident. But, I got mine out of the nightstand and put it in....and he had the right one....it had just shrunk! We turned on the light so we could see...and it really had shrunk! It looked like it had been made for an 8 year old's mouth! It must have happened on the way back to Huntsville Sunday afternoon, but he wore it Saturday night and it fit fine. The car was pretty hot when we first got in it, but we were only in it for 2 hours. You wouldn't think that would be long enough to melt a retainer and change its shape. Oh well! So, Travis called yesterday and made an appointment for this afternoon. I'm afraid they're going to say he needs a whole new retainer...and they cost like $400....eek.
Moral of the story...don't travel with your plastic retainer when it's 100 degrees outside apparently.
I did good with my Publix trip yesterday. I got a lot of great deals! I spent more than I usually spend every week ($88), but I saved $71, so that was pretty good. I also found (for the FIRST time) coupon booklets in the store!!!!! They never have any when I look, and yesterday I found two different ones. Yay!!!!
Travis's left hip has really been bothering him for the past couple of weeks. It usually feels ok in the mornings, but by the end of the day he's limping on it pretty bad. If it doesn't get better soon, he's going to have to go the doctor about it. He's not sure what caused it, but hopefully it's nothing serious.
That's about all the news around here that I can think of. Hope you're having a fabulous week! :)

Having a great week!
Well, we're halfway through another week...and already halfway through July! Last weekend was a blast! We actually stayed in town (seems like we're always traveling on the weekends!), and Friday night was the ice cream social I'd been planning for a while. Somehow we squeezed 10 people in our living room, and we all sat around eating ice cream, talking, and playing Catch Phrase. It was a lot of fun mixing friends from here and from Tuscaloosa and having everyone get to know each other. Saturday, we went to a wedding and then watched Avatar that night. Andrew came over, and we ate MORE ice cream...haha...and watched the movie. It was definitely a different kind of movie, but I liked it overall. Sunday, we went to church, ate lunch with Baugay, and then had supper at the Smiths' with Brett, Sarabeth, and a new friend, Shannon, who visited Kelly Spring for the first time Sunday. It was a lot of fun!
This week, I worked Monday, and I work tomorrow from 10 AM to 4 PM and Friday from 6 AM to 6 PM. Travis's off day is this Friday, so he's looking forward to that. He's been working hard on a paper this week at work, so I know he'll be glad to have a 3 day weekend!
We actually have the next few weekends relatively free of anything big to do, so I'm really excited about that. This weekend, I'm hoping to get a new cell phone (yay!), wash our cars, and take Travis shopping for some new clothes and shoes (don't you know he's excited about that!). One of these weekends, I want to take a trip to either Trussville or the lake house to see my parents (and hopefully Jenn!)....I miss y'all!
That's all for now! :)

It's already July!!
This summer is going by really fast! I feel like Travis just graduated yesterday, and now we've already been away from Tuscaloosa for almost 2 months! It's just crazy...
We had a fun 4th of July weekend. Saturday, we went to Jeremy's house in Woodville to hang out with our "college" friends for the day. It was great to see everybody that we haven't seen in a while! We spent the day fishing, shooting shotguns (well, not me), playing baseball and flag football, and just talking. We missed my family at the lake this weekend though! We still haven't been to the lake this summer yet, but hopefully we can make it down there soon.
Friday night, we're having friends over for an ice cream social. We're going to make homemade vanilla ice cream, and everybody is bringing toppings to go on it! I'm excited! We've finally got the last of our pictures hung in our apartment, so this is kind of a celebration of us being finished moving in I guess. Then, Saturday, one of Travis's friends from high school is getting married, so we're going to his wedding that afternoon. We're missing the Dvorak family reunion, but hopefully we won't be in too much trouble and they'll let us come for the one next year...haha :)
Well, it's getting close to 9:30...our "old married couple" bedtime, so I better wrap this up! Hope everyone is having a wonderful week :)

Another Work Week!
Well, we're slowly getting settled into a routine. Travis is getting into the habit of waking up early every day. He usually wakes up at 5:30 every morning to give himself enough time to shower and get ready, eat breakfast, and make his coffee. He is loving the new coffee grinder he bought for his birthday! It's a little bit harder to clean than the last one, but he says it grinds the beans more evenly, so I guess it's worth it :)
I worked yesterday for 5 hours or so (10 AM to 3 PM), and I'm working tomorrow and Friday. Supposedly next month I'm switching to part time, but I'm not holding my breath. The July schedule came out, and my hours will still be totally random each week. I'd love to get on a normal schedule, but maybe I'll just have to wait until August?
This weekend we'll actually be staying at home with not a whole lot to do...hopefully! We still need to finish getting our apartment set up and work on a budget for the next year. I think we might eat supper with Laura and Clayton on Saturday night, but nothing's set in stone.
I'm watching the USA/Algeria soccer game right now and hoping they'll pull out the win! The US just scored and they called offsides and took the goal away. The replay made it look like he was onside, so who knows...
Well I better get back at it....lots to do around here!
Hope you all are having a great week! :)

A lot has changed in the past month!
Sorry it's been so long since I last posted! It's been pretty busy around here lately. In my last update, we were still in Tuscaloosa ready for Travis's graduation, and now a month has gone by, and we are both working and are (mostly) settled in our "new" place. Graduation was definitely an exciting time! Travis was so glad to finally be finished with classes, projects, homework, and tests. The graduation cookout was a success! We had more than enough food and everyone seemed to have a good time. Even the weather was pretty much perfect (except for the wind!).
It's weird to think that we don't have a "home" in Tuscaloosa anymore. That's where we met and spent the last five years of our lives, and from now on, whenever we visit, we'll have to crash at somebody's house or apartment I guess! I already miss all our t-town friends, but I'm hoping we'll see them this fall at a football game or two.
It's taken a while, but we've got almost all our stuff where it's needs to go in Baugay's apartment. The only thing left to do is hang a few more pictures on the wall. Once we get that done, I'll post a few pictures so you can see what it looks like! It looks and feels totally different here with all of our stuff!
Last week, we went on our annual beach trip to Fripp Island with my family. We had a blast! This year, our group was smaller than ever, but we still had a lot of fun kayaking, going to the beach, swimming in the pool, feeding the deer, playing Balderdash, and going to the Hunting Island lighthouse. The week always goes by too fast! Next year, hopefully no one will get sick, and Jenn and Claire will get to come too :)
Today is Travis's first day of work! His boss, Doug, called him yesterday and told him that he could start work even though he still hasn't gotten his paperwork from HR in the mail yet. He'll just get paid his co-op salary in the meantime, which is better than nothing! He's excited about actually getting to work as an engineer now, so hopefully his first day is going well! I work a 12 hour shift tomorrow, and then tomorrow night is Travis's graduation party with the Dvoraks at Uncle Allen and Aunt Debbie's house.
I'll try to update this blog more often from now on! :)

This is THE week...
...that we've been looking forward to all semester! Travis is graduating on Saturday, and I am so thrilled for him! He has really worked hard this semester, so I know he's glad to be finishing up for good this time. He has finals tomorrow, Wednesday, and Friday, and his senior design project demo on Thursday, so by Friday night, it'll be time to start the celebration!
I'm really looking forward to the graduation cookout on Saturday. I hope everyone has a good time, and the weather turns out nice. Right now, they are saying there's a 10% chance of rain Saturday with a high of 77, so that's sounds pretty good to me.
Although I'm really looking forward to Travis graduating (because that means we'll be reunited in the same city again), I'm not looking forward to leaving t-town. We've made some really great friends there, and it's going to be sad to leave everyone and not come back in the fall. I guess you have to grow up eventually though. I hope we'll be able to get football tickets for at least a game or two this fall, so that'll be a good chance to see everyone again. If we can recruit a willing photographer, I think Travis and I are going to take some pictures on campus next week before we move. I'd like to get pictures on the Quad, in front of the stadium, and just different spots around campus that were meaningful to us. It'll be a good way to remember what everything looked like while we were students there because I'm sure things will look a lot different in 25 or 50 years.
Next week is going to be filled with packing and moving. At least we'll finally have all our stuff in one place for the first time in our almost 2.5 years of marriage!
I'm working tomorrow and Wednesday before heading back to Tuscaloosa Wednesday afternoon. Yay for a short work week! :)

18 days!
Travis graduates in 18 days! Yay, it is right around the corner!!!!
We had a great weekend in Tuscaloosa together. I got into town around 4:30 PM on Friday and cooked chicken tetrazini for supper. Then we watched 24 and went over to Ashley and Seth's for a little while for a birthday party. Then, Saturday we went grocery shopping, watched the A-Day game on TV, and had Alisha and Tyler over for supper. I made Peppered Shrimp Alfredo (here's the recipe, Alisha) and everybody liked it! Then, we went to Yogurt Mountain for dessert...yum :)
Sunday we went to church and ate lunch with Alan, Katie, Andrew, and Katie's parents at McAlister's.
I didn't have to work yesterday, so I stuck around in t-town until yesterday afternoon and then came back to Baugay's. I worked today, and then I'm off tomorrow. I work 12 hours Thursday and 8 Friday before heading back to t-town for another great weekend together!
Travis is in the middle of another hectic week, but we're hoping things will slow down after this week is over. He has his big senior design presentation tomorrow, a paper due in quantum physics on Thursday, and a test on Friday. By the time I see him, I'm sure he'll be ready to crash! He's actually looking forward to finals week because it will probably be less stressful than any other week this semester.
Right now, he's at the GI doctor's office for his follow-up appointment. We'll see what they tell him...hopefully good news!
Hope everyone is having an awesome week! :)
